Mushrooms Found on Isle au Haut

Jacob Swane And Sebastian Malone

It takes a very skilled person to be able to identify mushrooms in the field for harvesting. In order to sell mushrooms in the market, it takes a very skilled person with a license. You should not eat any mushrooms that cannot be positively identified. Even experienced mushroom hunters have miss identified a mushroom. Many species of mushrooms are quite deadly. Most mushrooms sold in stores are farmed in nurseries.

During our travels to Isle au Haut we spent most of our time on the coast. The following pictures documet the mushrooms that we have located and attempted to identify. We located these mushrooms during our travels on Isle au Haut. We never tired to eat any of the mushrooms that we found.
